Windows 10: [HELP] Windows 10 compression corrupted 1,5k of my photos. Anyone got solution for this?

Hi, all!

OK, I was stupid and careless, didn't pay attention to my disk space and sometimes in the past I was on very low space. W10 decided to compress some files for me to save the space and now I have a problem.

I have a folder full of pictures (1,5k+) which was mentioned to be a backup from my phone. It's a whole year of photos and it seems now is corrupted. I suppose this happened during compression. It says this folder is 33TB but that can't be true because disk itself has max of 175GB.

I tried to "decompress" it but cannot get it done because I don't have 30+TB of space which is logic mistake I guess.

*every image has ~22GB which is insane.

Has anyone encountered this problem perhaps yet? Thanks in advance.

The Photos app brings together pictures from all your devices using OneDrive, so that you can browse them by date, album or folder. It also automatically enhances photos, and creates albums for you, to showcase your best shots.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

Problem with compressed memory process


Hi, it's problem with various possible causes. System and compressed memory was introduced in Win 10 to optimise memory use, but can cause problems for some. Here's a collection of issues and maybe solutions. A common one is one experienced with Chrome.
