Windows 10: Help! Windows 10 won't boot ('system thread exception not handled')

Upgraded to Win 10 from 8.1 recently and it was working fine. This morning when I tried to boot it won't. Stays stuck in a 'your PC ran into a problem' loop and shows a 'system thread exception not handled' error.

I hadn't got a chance to create a recovery disk (the Internet tells me I need this to be able restore without losing my files and data).

I have a Win 7 laptop which I'm typing this on but which hasn't received its Win 10 update so that I can create a recovery disk on it.

• What is the version of OS currently installed on the computer?
• What happens when the laptop fails to boot? Is there any error code or message displayed?
• Which OS did you install using the ISO?
• Is there any error message or code when the computer fails to boot in Safe mode?

1. I have windows 8.1 professional N for 32 (86) os

2. No nothing.

3.The same i have for 32 version

4.I can't go to safe mode. Actually i can't do anything. It doesn't recognize the usb driver neither a dvd.

 

I am in the same boat. I stupidly didnt create a boot usb or disk. Chose to upgrade using the media tool. I am now in the same blue screen of death loop. I then created a windows 10 64bit boot usb on another computer. I have made that the priority boot option in the bios but still stuck in the same loop..help!

I am in the same except I do have another laptop, a Dell Inspiron, with windows 10 installed and working fine (so far). The problem laptop is a 4 year old HP. Can I create a recovery USB/DVD from the Dell to try and boot the HP laptop?

I managed to make a recovery disk from my Dell Inspiron. Using this to try and boot the HP/Compaq laptop I get the 'Press any key to boot from DVD' I do this and the drive whirrs and I get a windows logo on screen. It stays like that with the drive whirring away for about 2 minutes then I can see the little animated loading gif start to work. It gets halfway and then I get BSOD. System Thread Exception not handled. This laptop was working fine until the automatic update earlier in the week. Now I have a bricked laptop. Thanks Microsoft!

 

Update 2
Managed to speak to Microsoft Tech support. Very helpful but only recourse was to boot using windows 8 media and re-install windows 8. Do a custom install. This wiped my C: drive but left my DATA partition intact. Thankfully all I lost were a few programs that I can re-install. The MS guy said it was a wide issue and they were working on finding the cause.
