    I have to go to partition manager assign a drive letter and hit explore. Why? Then after removing it itll leave a hollow drive that gives an error when clicking it.

    Windows 10 1709 - iso will no longer mount from exFAT formatted drives

    Still looking for a fix.

    iso images will mount from internal SSD (NTFS)

    iso images will mount from external HHD (NTFS)

    iso images will mount from flash drives (NTFS)

    iso images will not mount from any external device (exFAT)

    I store many iso images on my micro SD and external drives (exFAT), and now I can only mount these files if I move them to a drive formatted in NTFS!

    Formating to exFAT

    Hi Taylor,

    If you want to format an external hard drive or USB flash drive in exFAT, you can follow these steps:



    • Press and hold Windows key + x on your keyboard. This open the context menu.
    • Select Command Prompt (Admin).
    • Type format g: /FS:exFAT and then Enter to begin formatting the G drive as exFAT

    Windows 10 1709 - iso will no longer mount from exFAT formatted drives

    I have the same issue, and started with the upgrade to the latest version 1709, i cant mount an ISO from a USB formatted as exFAT
