    Help! Windows Running Incredibly Slow


    I am sorry if this doesn't belong here, I am new to this community.

    Over the past months, I have noticed a considerable decline in my PC's performance. It takes over 10 minutes to restart and get running again, simple tasks like opening a web browser take minutes to do, and overall the performance has dropped considerably when performing tasks like opening and closing programs.

    Curiously, however, whenever I am in a video game it runs fine. I can hold 60 fps in most video games (for example, I play Rainbow 6 Siege on ultra settings at a perfect 60 fps). It seems problematic that my computer can run demanding games perfectly, but fails to open a web browser in less than 5 minutes.

    I initially thought that I may have a virus or malware, but multiple scans proved that this wasn't the case. What is going on? Is this just age I have to live with, or is there a fix? Thanks in advance!

    PC Running Incredibly Slow


    After upgrading to Windows 10, it's just been problem after problem...

    Everything on my computer is running incredibly slow. GTA 5, Flight Simulator X, all running slower than ever. Even the operating system, simply writing something, is slow. And I have a strong laptop. Windows 10 Pro, 16 GB RAM, GTX 860M, i7-4710HQ 3.5 GHz turbo. It's becoming unbearable, and I really need help.

    Hi,

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

    I would suggest you to run System maintenance troubleshooter.

    Try the followings steps:




    • Click "Search" and type "Troubleshooting" without quotes and hit enter.

    • Select "System maintenance"

    • Click next to run the troubleshooter.

    Computer running very slow after Windows 10 upgrade

    Dell XPS 8700 computer with 8 GB Ram originally running 8.1 was upgraded to windows 10. After a long installation process, system is up and running but it's very slow, incredibly slow. Any suggestions? I received no error messages!
