Windows 10: Help with connecting Xbox 360 controller to Windows 10

Hello, I have been trying to connect my Xbox 360 controller to my windows 10 PC without any success. I have two types of controllers that I have tried this with, one is a regular Xbox 360 controller that would connect wirelessly to an Xbox, and another older one that came with the Play and Charge Kit, which is what I'm using to try and connect them to the computer. When I plug either of the controllers in, Windows makes the connection sound, but the controller's lights flash for a bit and then stop. When I go to test the controllers there is nothing. I have the 360 controller Windows 7 drivers installed because there are no Windows 10 drivers that I have seen, and device manager recognizes it plugged in as Xbox 360 Peripherals as "Xbox 360 Wireless Controller via Play and Charge Kit". Will this not work with what I have or is there a way to do it? Thank you.

Xbox One controller being recognized as a 360 Controller
