Windows 10: Help with desktop Microsoft Apps

For past few days I am unable to open any MS App on my laptop. When I click on Excel, it says the program using this shortcut has moved. But I didn't make any changes whatsoever on my laptop regarding Microsoft Apps. I have an active MS365 product which came with this laptop. When I tried opening the Apps from there, it first opens a corresponding tab in Chrome and after clicking on Editing, it gives option to open in Desktop App. What should I do to get my old access back and open Word or Excel or Powerpoint from Start and not this long process?

How to pin app shortcut to desk top?

I suggest you to follow below steps to change pin the apps on the desktop screen and check if it helps.

Step 1: I suggest you to perform the below steps to add the apps on desktop.

• Click on the “Start button” and locate the App that you want to pin to Desktop.
• Right click on the “App” and click on “More options”.
• Then click on “Open File location” and right click on the app, click on “Send to” option.
• Then select “Desktop (Create shortcut)”.
• Go to “Desktop” and check whether the app is located or not.

Or Step 2: To add shortcuts to the desktop

• Press and hold or right-click the desktop, tap or click New, and then tap or click Shortcut.
• Enter the location of the item or tap or click Browse to find the item in File Explorer.

I suggest you to login through Microsoft account and check if the issue still persists.

Also, I suggest you to run Internet connection troubleshooter
and check if it helps:

Steps:

• Type Troubleshooting in Search box from the desktop and select
  Troubleshooting.
• Click on View all from the left pane of the troubleshooting
  window.
• Select Internet Connection to run Internet Connection troubleshooter.
• Follow the onscreen instructions.
