Windows 10: Help With Encryption

OK, I'm relatively computer stupid. I decided a few months ago to encrypt all of "My Documents". Then, any time I created any WordPad or Paint file and saved it, whether to a folder or to the desktop. it was automatically encrypted. When I saved a webpage as an HTML, it was encrypted. I went back and changed "My Documents" to un-encrypted I Thought. I don't remember what steps/settings I made originally, but it continued making every type of file mentioned encrypted.All the above can now be changed to past tense. Because... I searched and searched how to remedy this, to no avail. SO..... I r

Help! File permission errors in encrypted folder

Hi Bill,

To assist you better, I would like to ask some questions:

• Are you the Administrator of the computer?
• Are you connected to a domain network?

I suggest you to decrypt the folder by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• Right-click the folder or file you want to decrypt, and then click Properties.
• 
  Click the General tab, and then click Advanced.
  
• 
  Clear the Encrypt contents to secure data check box, click
  OK, and then click OK again.

For us to be able to isolate your concern why your devices page says it is not encrypted when you've turn on encryption, kindly answer these questions:

• Does this happen before you encrypt the device?
• Which Windows version currently running on your device?
• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
