Windows 10: Help with graphic card changing between GPU-0 3D and GPU-1 Copy

I have a lenovo laptop and since i buyed it ,games are using GPU-1 Copy sometimes .but most of the times they are using GPU-0 3D .The GPU 0 is the integrated and the GPU 1 is the dedicated nvidia GPU,I searched up on youtube some tests on my laptop and they have 100-200 fps and I only get 60-70 and I think the problem is with the GPU . Can you guys please help me? I have the newest nvidia drivers and i tried reinstall it and nothing happened.I also tried to disable the integrated GPU from device manager but then i only have 1HZ and i can t change it to 60HZ, and I have only 1 fps in games. How to switch my GPU 0 to GPU 1

Hey there!

Recently, I installed new software for my AMD GPU. So I realized that my actually GPU (AMD Radeon RX 6600) is GPU 0, meaning it was barely being used when I was playing and actually my AMD Radeon Graphics where GPU 1, so they where the main/primary GPU. I tried to search up how to change it but no luck. Will this actually boost game performance? Please help and thanks!

Specs of my PC:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G (with graphics)

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6600

 

Effect of Multiple GPUs?

I recently upgraded my GPU to a 3060TI and my brother got a new GPU as well. I took his old GPU which is a 1060-3GB and installed it into my computer as a second graphics card. I have four monitors and I have my first and second main monitors connected to the 3060TI and my third and fourth monitors connected to the 1060-3GB. On the fourth monitor, I have my camera system around the house and that can take up quite a lot of GPU consumption which can affect gaming very graphically so that's why I wanted the second GPU.

I also see in my task manager that there are different GPU engines. GPU 1 - 3D, GPU 2 - 3D, GPU 1 - Copy. The camera system shows up as GPU 2 - 3D strictly. However, some other tasks that I have on my third monitor will change frequently between GPU 1 - Copy and GPU 2 - 3D approximately every 5-45 seconds.

My Questions:

Will the second GPU release some pressure of the cameras off the first GPU to help improve gaming?

What do the different engines mean and is it normal for some tasks to change between GPU 2 - 3D and GPU 1 - Copy?

Does "GPU 1 - Copy" affect performance on my main GPU?

Do certain tasks switch between my first and second GPU?

If I had a video opened up on my third monitor and a game opened up on my main monitor, would they both use the same GPU or the separate GPUs?

Are there any over/under-clocking that I should do for my GPUs?

Does the second GPU affect performance negatively?

MOBO: Z390 AORUS ULTRA

CPU: I9-9900K - Integrated Graphics Currently Enabled (No longer used with the addition of the second GPU)

GPU 1: 3060 TI

GPU 2: 1060-3GB

Memory: 40GB

OS is on NVME (1TB)

Three NVMEs (1TB, 250GB, 1TB)

Four HDDs (Fourth HDD is inactive at the moment) (2TB, 2TB, 4TB, 6TB)

PSU: 850W

 

How to switch my GPU 0 to GPU 1

Thanks for the reply. If you don't need the integrated graphics to be used by windows on your apps, you can disable it in device manager so everything will be handled by your dedicated graphics card. Here's how:

1) Press Windows key + x, pick device manager

2) Expand Display adapters

3) Look for Radeon Vega Graphics

4) Right click on it and select disable

5) Test if your apps will default into using the dedicated graphics card from this point onwards.

Also, please check this guide on how to disable the integrated graphics via BIOS if the above does not help.
