Windows 10: Help with moving/ reinstalling windows 10

Hi, I just bought a used laptop today for use as a dj controller, the smaller primary ssd has windows 7 on it, and the larger hdd has windows 10 on it, both are working fine and I have been assured that the product key sticker for windows 10 is on the hard drive itself. I don't want to keep windows 7, so would like to move windows 10 across if this is possible. Then I can remove the hdd and put the optical drive back in it's place to upload my cd collection. Can I just download windows 10 professional and use the product key again as it is already associated to that motherboard? Or am I kidding myself it could be that simple?

Someone correct me if I am wrong here, but he is not going to be able to move software using Acronis. If you reinstalled Windows the next step is reinstalling all your software.

 

[Solved] Windows 10 keeps reinstalling KB3119142

I noticed quite some time ago that KB3119142 (Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Update 4 Redistributable Package) kept reinstalling itself for some reason. At least once daily. Sometimes up to several times a day. I just ignored it. It didn't seem to be doing any harm. And I figured they'd eventually fix it. Well...days turned into weeks, weeks into months, with no end to the problem in sight. It dragged on unsolved for at least the last few months. Literally reinstalling itself hundreds of(at least a hundred, felt like more) times in that period of time.

So I finally googled it a couple days ago. And just got around to fixing it today. Which appears to have worked. And it couldn't have been easier to do. I feel so stupid to have let it intimidate me for so long.*Oops!

you are correct, if he already reinstalled windows, he need to reinstall all the programs, he might as well do the same thing on the new drive directly, will be cleaner.
