Windows 10: Help with my CPU?

Hey guys, I don’t know if this is the right place to post something like this but I’m desperately in needing of help. Here’s the problem: first of all, I start by saying I use my PC (ASUS K501U) to make music. Yesterday, right before dinner, I was working as usual on one of my project, which is pretty heavy but the CPU indicator on the program I use always shows values around 20/30%. Then I go to dinner, leave the PC on for half an hour and go back to work, but the project I was working on right before going to eat seems like it’s broken, so i check my CPU indicator and it was waving around like 90/95%, hitting sometimes values around 300%. I checked everything in the Task Manager, nothing opened that can commit the CPU that much, except a “System Interrupt” command which uses like 20% of the CPU. Tried to close it but i couldn’t, so i turned off my PC, let it cool for a while and turned it on again, let it cool again for like 20 minutes but everything seems so slow and broken. What the hell happened to it? Do you think my CPU broke all of a sudden? I leave you some infos to let you understand better: - Intel Core i7 up to 3.1GHz - RAM 12GB - SSD 1TB Also, got one of the most important work of my life commissioned to the next days, so i really need help as fuck.
