Windows 10: Help with my new ssd external device?

Hello, i just had a new SSD external device storage which is connected to the SATA cable, and I initialized it so I do have games installed on it and it works. But suddenly when I restarted my pc the SSD doesn't show up on my file explorer, but it does show up on bios. The problem is when I go to disk management it says that the SSD is unknown or not initialized then when I initialize it a popup message appear that says a device which does exist was specified. PS. I have two SSD one for my old SSD which has the OS and the new one the storage, I already exchange the SATA cables and see if it's

I have recently bought external SSD, I want to know what are the things i need to take care of before using my external SSD? Any tips and suggestions are welcome. Thank you for your support.

 

EXTERNAL SSD STORAGE DEVICE

I have 2 StarTech 2.5 HDD / SSD external storage devices. - model # S251BU31315. When I install a 2.5 HDD into the StarTech external storage device I have no problem with Windows 10 Pro recognizing the external 2.5 hard drives. They show up on my computer
in my "file explorer" section and in "This PC" all so I can see a New Volume ( with an assigned letter. However if I do not use a HDD but instead use an SSD in the storage device I get nothing. Windows 10 Pro does not recognize anything in the "file
explorer" section, Yet the StarTech device has a little blue light that indicates power, if its working or not and those little blue diodes are lit up bright blue, and in my "All settings" section, under the "Bluetooth & other devices" they do show up with
"Device" and symbol of a device, but in file explorer nothing.

Let us isolate your concern by answering the questions below:

• Have you tried to use the SSD on another computer to check if the same thing happens?
• Is your SSD USB 2.0 or 3.0?
• Do you have other similar SSDs with the same connection type that show up differently when you connect them?
