Windows 10: Help with Pinning Excel Files in the taskbar

I’ve always had trouble pinning the last file to the toolbar. Because right now, it’s able to accommodate 12 pinned files. But when I come to pin the 11th file from the most recent list, the file that would keep on appearing is thisERSONAL.XLSBBecause my Excel files use this personal macro. But then I wouldn’t want to pin that in my taskbar. But it kon showing up in the recent files list. So how can I make this not appear in the recent files list I can pin?Thanks in advance.

How to pin Excel pinned files to taskbar icon?

Hi,

Please note that the pinned files on Windows taskbar are not the same as the pinned files in Excel or any Office apps. You would have to use the pin button on the taskbar to pin that file to the taskbar list. To do this, click the Start button, look for Excel icon in your taskbar and right click on it. It will show you your recently opened files in Excel. Hover over the file you want to pin and click on the "Pin to this list" button to pin that file to your taskbar pinned list. Hope this helps!

Excel file sticks to Taskbar

I pinned one Excel file to the taskbar. Despite I click on "Unpin from this list" icon, it keeps sticking to the taskbar. I pinned another Excel file to the
taskbar and unpinned it easily. Thus, this is the only Excel file affected. Help me to unpin it

 

Option to pin to taskbar is missing for Excel in Windows 10

We understand the inconvenience you have experienced.

Usually when you're working on any Excel file, you can see an instance of Excel Icon will be located on taskbar. Simply right-click and selecting
Pin to taskbar will do this. Let me elaborate this in steps.

* Open new Excel sheet or any Excel file which you're working. (I.e. to open new Excel sheet, press
Start, type Excel and select same from the list)

* Go to Taskbar and then right-click on opened Excel file located on taskbar.

* Now select Pin to taskbar.

Another way is, go to Start /> All apps, then navigate alphabetically till you find
Excel. Then right-click on, point to More and select Pin to taskbar.

Done, this will Pin Excel sheet to Taskbar. You can follow the same steps for pinning any application to taskbar.
