Windows 10: Help with recording screen on one desktop while doing something else in another desktop

I wanted to use a screen recorder software to record the screen on Desktop 1 while I do something else on another Desktop 2 without my actions on Desktop 2 being recorded. If you do not know, you can switch between desktops on Windows 10 on the same computer. However, with the software that I have (which was called Screen Recorder Pro that I got from the Microsoft Store), that was not possible. I tried with different settings but the result was that my actions in Desktop 2 were recorded.

I want to know if there's a screen recorder software that is capable of doing what I wanted to do, or at least if it is possible to do it.

Poll: Desktop Screen Size

This goes along with my Desktop Screen Res poll. A lot of people have been posting their monitor size in addition to voting in the poll, but I wanted to make an actual poll to put the screen size votes in a more easily readable format.

This is for desktop systems, not laptops. I've tried to include all screen sizes that people are likely to have; if yours is not listed, round up. If you have multiple, different-sized screens, check all that apply. I've also listed projectors as an option.

I didn't list individual sizes over 32" as these are typically not intended as PC monitors; just select "Larger."

To resolve your concern about screen recorder, follow the steps below:

• Click on the Windows logo found at the lower left hand corner of your desktop.
• Go to Settings.
• Click on System.
• On the left hand side, click on Storage.
• Click on This PC.
• Scroll down, and click on Temporary files.
• Click on Delete temporary files.
• Restart your computer, and then try screen recorder again.

Regarding the Windows shortcut for your screen recorder, follow the steps below:

• Open your Xbox application.
• On the left hand side, click on the Settings icon.
• Click on the Game DVR tab.
• Make sure Record game clips and screenshots using Game DVR is
  On.
