These registry entries keep reappearing in my registry. Does anyone know what they are? Are they normal? And if not, how can I keep them from reappearing?

  2. Windows Startup Registry "Run"

SOLVED, you all can relax now!

The solution is so simple, I gave READ ONLY Permission to every entity listed in the RUN registry under both "HKey Current User" and "HKey Local Machine", my original mistake, I only dealt with the "HKey Current User" and forgot
all about the most important one "HKey Local Machine". From now on, no program can write itself into the Run Registry Windows Startup, only the ones listed have that permission.

    Case closed, tyvm.

    Miscellaneous Registry entries?

    W1zzard: Miscellaneous Registry entries?

    For W1zzard,

    *Respect :respect:

What are the registry entry names and data types for the Miscellaneous entries:

Currently selected Catalyst A.I. level, and Geometry Instancing Enabled?

I can't find anything that looks like those that are defined in that registry key, and I have to manually set them everytime I reboot my PC. *Frown Help with Strange Registry Entries in HKEY CURRENT USER :(

It would be nice to be able to keep them set across reboots. *Smile Help with Strange Registry Entries in HKEY CURRENT USER :)

Or are they taken care in version 0.25b11? I'm currently using 0.24.

  4. Help with Strange Registry Entries in HKEY CURRENT USER

Why are the registry folders in HKEY_CURRENT_USER all strangely named, but not other HKEY folders?

I was looking into some registry editing and it required me to go to a path in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel but when I expanded the list, the subfolders were all named strange characters. Here is an image.

The only other registry editing I have done were in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, with the exception of disabling Xbox DVR. Interestingly, the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore is named correctly. image.

As mentioned in the title, the other HKEY registry folders seem normal. image.

I'm wondering what might cause this and if there's any way to fix it
