Help with Windows 10 file structure, OneDrive, and moving files to SD card

I understand concepts of file and folder management but don't really understand the default folder structure that is automatically created when I initially set up the Surface Pro, especially as it relates to OneDrive. I have installed a new 512GB SD card in my Surface Pro and want to transfer all my documents and pictures to the SD card, as well as make it the default location for any new files that I create. The Documents and Pictures folders are currently in C:\Users\rosm2\OneDrive\ took me a while to figure out where they are so I assume it means that all these files reside in this folder and are synced to OneDrive.

How do I move everything to D:\ drive? I am unable to move the entire OneDrive folder or even just the Pictures folder because it tells me I don't have enough space on the C: drive to perform the operation even though I'm selecting Move, not Copy or gives me some other error message. If I move subfolders one at a time, how do I then set them up to be synced with OneDrive? Can I just create a OneDrive folder on the D: drive and move all the file folders into it or do I need to do something to set it up?

Hope I'm making myself clear. Although I've worked with previous Windows operating systems for a long time and have been using Windows 10 for a couple of years now I still have problems understanding the default file structure, as well as how "Libraries" tie in with file folders.

    Thanks for any help.

    :)

  2. Unable to move apps to SD card on windows phone 8.1

    Hi Aurelia,

still facing the same issue after performing above mentioned step.

I tried my SD card on another windows phone and it worked fine as I was able to move files to SD card. Looks like an issue with Windows.

do you suggest reset a phone would help?

    Regards,

    Move apps between SD Cards

    Hello Lemol-C:

You can certainly provide us with any feature requrests you like here,
    http://windowsphone.uservoice.com/forums/101801-feature-suggestions
. This process of moving content from the SD card is something that can be done. In your case this looks to be an issue with the files being corrupted or steps being missed.

Since the process's we discussed here did not work for you consider the following if you make this change again some time. Move as many of the apps from your SD card to your phone storage as you can. Remove the SD card from your phone and insert the new
SD card. Move the apps on the phone storage to the new SD card and repeat the process. Each time you remove the SD card, be sure to follow the safe removal steps to further ensure you do not damage the files on the SD card.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns we can assist you with.

Help with Windows 10 file structure, OneDrive, and moving files to SD card

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

This is Windows 10 Pro... Enterprise is an entirely different deal and I'm sure I won't have problems that route, but I'm not forking over more $ to dipshit developers. The only thing I can think of is un-linking my Office 365 accounts within Office, but that defeats the purpose of accessing the files ONLINE and managing them from there. I have two alumni accounts, not a single problem in Windows 7/8 until M$shit devs decided to integrate Onedrive. I've deleted, renamed, set read-only to "msosync.exe," ... but windows continues to add it again and again, and NOW I just noticed it's now linking to groove.exe, instead of onedrive. Sooo fn annoying!

Onedrive on Windows 10 is not an 'app' it is integrated. Plus I don't fool around with the Windows Store thoughtless developer child bullshit. Windows Store ought to be completely removed from the Windows platform all together. Also I do not intend to completely remove Onedrive, it defeats the purpose... the purpose is to REMOVE it from Windows Explorer navigation and startup.
