Windows 10: Help with Windows 1x file manager. How can I search for files that start with or end with.....

How can I search in Windows File Manager for files that "start with..." or "end with..." ? For example: a find all files that "Start with..." dog*.* results in: "dog training.pdf" "dog commands.txt" "dog vet visits.xls"--or--b find all files that "End with..." *.dog.* results in: "training your dog.pdf" "working with your dog.doc"Notice: in neither example do I want results like: "your dog's diet.pdf" and Yes, I have already tried: dog*.* and *dog.* I still get results that have 'dog' in the middle of the filename.Thanks,Rob M

Windows 10 file explorer not responding

following ALL of the above steps did nothing. explorer.exe still broken.

additional steps taken:

1x system refresh, explorer still dead

1x clean boot, explorer still dead

3x sfc /scannow, rebooted in between, explorer still dead

1x restore point, all programs uninstalled, explorer worked for 4 hours, then died.

1x reset, explorer still never opened

1x reverted back to 8.1, explorer woked, autoupdated to 10, explorer died

1x COMPLETE WIPE, reinstalled 8.1, autoupdated to 10, explorer died.

wiping again. reeinstalling 8.1. turning off updates for good.

amazing this CRITICAL issue exists at all.

When I open Window 10 file manager it automatically starts a search that never ends.
If I cancel it the search stops, but almost all of my menu options are grayed out.

Generating a .txt based file list in Windows 7

I want to be able to generate a .txt file that lists all the files and folders in a specific folder on my PC, but don't know the name of any programs that do that. Searched on google a bit and came up with this guide, but it's for XP and I can't seem to find some of the folder options to modify the .bat file. Any suggestions? Thanks

EDIT: The .bat file will do what I want if it is in the folder I want to do it in, but the option I want to add is having the right click option that it shows.
