Help with Windows Network with Two Routers

I'm struggling to setup my home network using a new router I just bought, and could really use some help. The basic architecture is I have a cable model plugged into a Netgear router in my office. That is hardwired to a few devices and has an ethernet cable running to my Livingroom, plugged into a TP Link router. That router is hardwired to a few devices, and provides wifi to the house. I managed to get everything working, except the file sharing between my Windows 7 machine in my office and my Windows 10 machine in my Livingroom no longer works. I think the way my routers are configured, they are acting like two separate networks, so Windows can't easily connect them. I want to configure the router in the Livingroom as the primary (because it's newest). Any suggestions on how I can achieve this? The old office router is running "DD-WRT v3.0-r29059", if that helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    :)

  2. Help needed with simple wired network

Step one- Connect all PC's to router, and then the router to the modem. PC's go to router by the ports labeled "1-4" on the back of the router. WAN port goes to router. Power up all network equipment, and then systems.
Step two- Power on the computer connected to port one. Go into router settings at 192.168.0.1 and configure internet, dyndns, firewall, etc.
Step three- Go to "network set up wizard" in windows. (Network places- network set up wizard). The rest is self explanatory.
Step four- right click on each drive and printer you want to share, and then configure sharing preferences. Should be easy enough.
Step five- right click my computer, and the select "map network drive". Using the network address for each piece of hardware you shared, assign network drive letters.

Congratulations, you have a fully operational network. Happy Gaming! *Toast :toast:

    Hi,

To better assist you, we would like to know the following information:

    • Are you able to see the router's name in the wireless networks list?
    • Are you able to connect to the router but unable to connect to the Internet?
    • Do you receive any error message when connecting to the router? If yes, what is the exact error message that you receive?

In the meantime, we suggest that you run the Network troubleshooter. The Network troubleshooter can help diagnose and fix common connection problems. Kindly follow the steps below:

    • In the search box on the taskbar, type Network troubleshooter, and then select
Identify and repair network problems from the list of results.
    • Follow the steps in the troubleshooter and see if that fixes the problem.

If the issue persists, kindly try the troubleshooting steps on the following link:

We recommend that you try the steps on the Update the network adapter driver,
Run the Network troubleshooter followed by networking commands,
