I can't access certain system & windows folder files despite being the administrator and the only user on the computer.Some folders I can't delete it or even open it, or even edit it's properties. It says: "You don't currently have permissions to access this folder"When I click "continue" to permanently get access to this folder, it gives me another message.It says "You have been denied permission to access this folder"If I go to the "security" tab under the folder's properties it says;"You must have Read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click advanced to continue

Access denied despite administrator permissions

Hi there,

using this forum as a last resort because I'm at my wit's end.

I have the Xbox Games app installed on my Windows 11 (only updated a couple days ago) machine and I don't seem to have any permissions on the game folders.

If I go to "Accounts > Your info" it clearly shows that I, with my current user am "Administrator"

When I check the Security tab on those folders, under "group or usernames" I see "Administrators" in the list and it's set to Full control.

If I try to change anything permissions in there, I get various "Access denied" errors.

Why am I not able to change those permissions as admin?

I'm happy about any input at all, thanks in advance!

To provide user/s an access to folders, see the steps below on how to do so:

• Right-click on the folder > Security.
• Under the Group or user names option, click on the username that you want to have an access to the folder; then, click on Edit.
• It will show you the page of permissions which you can allow or deny.
• Choose your desired permissions and click on OK.
