Windows 10: Here's a prior answer. It was closed and I needed a followup? Can you help?

This answer was given to someone that can't get the mic to work although everything reports it's good to go and on and working and a-okay? But my Registry does not have this key or whatever? What next? Is there a way to create it? I have created keys, and worked in the Registry for years and been very fortunate to never had demolished it. Does anyone care to tell me how and where to create this key? Believe me I've been all over settings, Control Panel, etc and it's reports all looks good. Best drivers, no updates needed. etc.This is the answer that stopped short of anyone asking what to do if
