Microsoft today released a new Windows 10 Build 17672 for Fast Ring Insiders from the Red stone 5 development branch. The latest build comes with a minor feature related to Windows Security but contains a long list of fixes and also known issues as is expected in a preview build.

Microsoft fixed issue with the right click in the Edge browser not working correctly. The previous builds brought issues with the two finger gesture not working properly for users. The company has acknowledged it and the issue has now been fixed with users now able to dismiss notifications in the Action Center.

The Books pane in the Microsoft Edge using the pull gesture has now been fixed after downloading the latest build. Pinning books to the Start menu from the Edge browser, users will now be able to see a live tile between the book cover and current completion progress.

Printing PDFs from Microsoft Edge now has new options. Users will now be able to choose options like Actual size, Fit to page when trying to print PDFs. Microsoft has made improvements to the quality of the audio while recording clips using the game bar.

Issues related to apps not maximizing fully to the top of the screen and certain devices showing black screen has now been fixed in the latest build. Microsoft has also added notification for low battery on supported devices.

    Known Issues:

    • Mixed Reality experience will be broken with this build and Motion Controllers are not recognized in exclusive apps. If you are looking to enjoy the Windows Mixed Reality experience, then it is advised you to not take this build.
    • There is a issue that causes Narrator to read extra text when invoking Alt + Tab, Microsoft is currently working on a fix which should come in the next build.
    • Windows Mixed Reality headset will remain black on this build. You would need to unplug and reconnect to the PC for it to work again.
    • Insiders using Remote Desktop, project their screen, or have multiple monitors may experience explorer.exe hangs on this build.
    • Microsoft is still working to fix the Sets UX for Office Win32 desktop apps which should be ready before the public roll out this fall.
    • The top of some Win32 desktop app windows may appear slightly underneath the tab bar when created maximized. To work around the issue, restore and re-maximize the window.
    • Tiling and cascading windows, including features like “View Side by Side” in Word, will not work for inactive tabs.
    • Local files or non-Microsoft cloud files will not be automatically restored, and no error message will be provided to alert the user to that fact.

As there is a long list of known issues in this build, it is advisable to go through the full list of the issues above before downloading the latest Windows 10 build.
