    Computer HEVC Compatibility

    Hi, I am considering buying a Go Pro Hero 6 and I noticed that for some video shooting modes it uses HEVC. I am not sure if my computer is compatible with HEVC, and I would like to know. Here are my computer's specifications,

    • Windows 10
    • Intel I7 core processor
    • Graphics card: Nvidia Ge-Force 940m
    • It is an HP Envy 1 Terabyte Bang& Olufsen Laptop

    If any more specifications need to be listed to determine if my computer in HEVC compatible I will be happy to list them. Thank you!

    Surface Pro HEVC Support

    I have downloaded 1080p movies encoded in the new h.265 (HEVC) format on my 1st gen Surface Pro. I read online prior to getting Windows 10 that HEVC/h.265 will be supported. I now have Windows 10, but when I go to play the videos it plays, but just the
    audio. My question is, is it the Surface that isn't compatible with the HEVC movie, or is Windows 10?

    HEVC

    I have tried playing some samples of 4k HEVC video files and my 2500K @ 4.5Ghz can not play it smoothly. Does anyone have any experience on getting HEVC to run more efficiently?


    If not is there any way to use 2 PCs together and use each of their CPUs in tandem to play the files?
