Windows 10: Hewlett Packard LaserJet 5 Driver Now Missing from Microsoft Drive Upate Download January 2022

Setting up newly purchased laptop computer that comes with Windows 10. Attempting to installing Hewlett Packard LaserJet 5 printer. Could not find option in Windows 10 for the Hewlett Packard or HP LaserJet 5 printer setup Was using the Windows 10 Add Printer or scanner in Settings printer & scanners I also selected in the Windows 10 printer setup, Download Additional Printers for additional drivers. The additional drivers downloaded successfully and many more showed up but the LaserJet 5 option is no longer there. Interesting around a week or so ago I was setting up a new Windows

Hewlett-Packard LaserJet CP 1025 driver update keeps failing

For at least half a year, my Windows 10 update procedures have been successfull with the following blemish on top of it.

Hewlett-Packard driver update for HP LaserJet CP 1025nw – error 0x80240017 and

Hewlett-Packard driver update for HP LaserJet Professional CP1020 Series – error 0x80240017

(I've changed Finnish word "virhe" to its English equivalent "error", on those clips).

So I have a localized Finnish version of Windows 10 Pro and my HP CP 1025nw

laser printer have been with me since Windows XP. Turning into Windows 7

went fine and at the beginning turning into Windows 10 went fine too, but

about half a year ago these messages have been the end result of each and

every single update process of mine.

I have to say that the printer works just fine and I'm quite able to use it with

my Windows 10 machine, but those error messages are quite annoying.

Is there anything that could be done to these teasers... except of course tossing

the good, reliable printer to the dumpster.

 

HP laserjet 5 drivers

I cannot find any drivers for my HP LaserJet 5 printers that will work with Windows 10. There are just no close drivers that I could even try for the LaserJet 5. I love that printer and was hoping I don't have to throw it out. Appreciate any and all
suggestions. Thank you, Don

 

Windows 10 Driver for HP LaserJet 4


for those who have a HP (Hewlett Packard) Laserjet 4 or Laserjet 5M I finally found how to connect up the computer to these great printers when OS is Windows 10. Follow step-by-step. This really works!! I love my old printer:

Win 7 with Win 10, and as others have reported the drivers for my older printer did not load.
Although it is a HP Laserjet 4 plus, that appars to be not so important, other than the fact that the original cable has been replaced with one with a USB connector for my more modern laptop.

After struggling and Googling for far too much time, here is what worked very well.

--press teh Windows icon in the lower left corner
--select "settings"
--select "devices"
--select "add printers & scanners"
--select "add a printer"
-- it probably will scan and deliver a message like "printer ----- isn't listed"
--click on that message
--scroll down to "add a local printer"
--accept "use existing port" then scroll down and select USB001(virtual port for USB)
--it is possible that if you are using the original cable that the default LPT1 is the correct choice.
--that will lead to the same list of printer drivers that you would have had with Win 7 (my understanding, or misunderstanding, is that when Win 10 loaded it retained the Win 7 printer drivers, but did not make them particularly accessible.
--select your printer
--print a test page
--all done
--you may need to make that your default printer
