Windows 10: Hey! I want to make an exe file with notepad text.

Hey! I want to make EXE from a notepad text. Is it possible? When I open it, it says app doesn't work on your computer. How can I make it openable and that it works? Please respond fast! Is there some app? If there is some app, please let me know.

Hey, I was just trying to download a .exe file the other day, and accidentally clicked an option that made it so that every file I now open is opened with notepad. If there is any way to fix this, I would be very happy. Thanks.

An executable file (exe) is not a plain text file, it contains bytecode and is not editable in Notepad, that will corrupt the exe, because of the way Notepad handles characters, if you have edited the exe in Notepad, that is now useless, you will need to obtain
another copy of the exe . . .

To edit an exe you need to de-compile the exe, make the required changes and then re-compile it . . .

Why not simply find a different program that does register itself as a potential default correctly?

As I said before, the only option you have realistically if you wish to associate it is to use Open With, Browse to the program's exe and remember to click the check box to always use that program at the bottom.
(Tutorial available if you need it).

Otherwise, I suggest you use a different program that is written so as to register itself to be capable of handling the extensions it can process.

Understand that programs which are not so written will not be listed by Windows as a potential default, as I have already said.

For example, looking for a replacement for Notepad, I found EditPadLite, a tabbed editor. It is easy to associate this.
