  2. mouse left click brings up context menu

Windows 10. Wired HP mouse began bringing up context menu when clicking left key or right key. Have tried several suggested fixes that have not worked. Found suggestions for Win 7 and Win 8.1 but nothing for this in Win 10.

  3. mouse right click will not open my file explorer in taskbar

    Hello Carl,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

We regret the inconvenience caused to you. We will assist you to resolve this issue.

    • What happens when you left clicking?
    • When you say right click, do you actually mean left click?
    • Which all troubleshooting steps have you already tried to resolve this issue?

Left clicking with mouse will open File explorer or any other programs. Whereas right click will give you context menu.

I suggest you to right-click on the File Explorer
on the task bar and select Unpin from Taskbar. Now in the search bar type
File Explorer and right click on it and select Pin it to Taskbar
    and check if it helps.

Let us know the status of the issue. We will be glad to assist you further.

    Thank you.

mouse left click brings up context menu

    Hello,

If left-clicking your mouse shows the context menu, there might be settings that are incorrectly configured, or corrupted drivers, or that it may relate to hardware failure. For us to isolate the issue in using your mouse, kindly respond to the questions
    below:

    • Did the issue occur recently? If yes, what changes were made before the issue appeared?
    • Are you using a new mouse?
    • Does the issue persist when using a different mouse?
    • Does the issue persist when you use the mouse to a different computer?

We look forward to your response
