Hi All, Im looking for a way how can we extract all the list of installed programs/software's in control panel.There are few utilities like wmic product name but it shows only programs/software's installed in C Drive default .In my scenario we have software's/applications installed in more than one drive like E/F/D etc. So in simple words i need list of all programs whatever we see in control panel Let me know if there is a easy way to handle this using command line utility or psThanks in Advance....!!!

how do I change the default program for extracting files

Hi,

You can change the default program that's extracting the files by either changing it from the settings or right-clicking on the zipped file and choose which program will open it. We'd like to know which program are you using yo extract the files.

In the meantime, follow the steps below to change the default program:

• Right-click on the file you want to extract.
• Choose Open with and select which program you want to use.
• In other cases, a new menu will appear when choosing Open with. You can choose "Choose Default Program" from there.

Change the default programs from the Settings.

• Go to Settings. Choose Apps then
  Default apps.
• Select the app or program you want to use as default from the list.

Hi, good - an association is easier to deal with than a protocol, for which I see Thunderbird, Mail and Store listed. That implies Eudora needs to register its capability to be listed.

Ajay and Jim, I stumbled onto the solution.

In desperation I figured that I'd install the simple mail program the MS provides and use it as a go-between, but didn't quite know how to find it in 8.1, so I searched with the term "mail." Up popped an offer to, among other things, change the default email program. OK, worth a try. Eudora was the suggestion that came up!!!!




That suggests what you need to have in the registry. I found Mail\Hotmail curious (must be the Mail app).
