Windows 10: Hi how do I get my screen to stay on?

I am a teacher and the screen keeps turning off after 1 minute. I have changed the settings to 30 minutes as my class need to keep looking at the screen for longer than 1 minute, It doesn't seem to make any difference which timings I put in as it still turns off after 1 minute. Is there an apply settings button somewhere that I am missing? regards, Christine

Enable for you PC screen to stay on, please follow the steps below:

• Go to Control Panel.
• Click Hardware and Sound option.
• Click Change when the computer sleep option under Power Options.
• Set up your desire settings for Turn off the display and
  Put the computer to sleep option.
• Click Save Changes.

Laptop screen stays off after sleep.

Conflicts with the power plan settings or a corrupted display driver can cause your screen to stay black when waking from sleep mode. As an initial step to prevent this from happening, we suggest that you restore the power plan settings to default. To do
this, follow these steps:

• Type Command Prompt in the search box. From the search result, right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
• Copy and paste or type in the command below:
  
  powercfg -restoredefaultschemes
• Press Enter and wait for the command to finish.

Note: This option will delete all custom power plans and restore the built in power plan settings of your device.
