Hi,I’m having an issue with accessing Minecraft Java Edition, even though I already own Bedrock. I bought Bedrock before the two versions were bundled together. I’ve tried multiple ways to resolve this, like contacting support, watching tutorials, and searching online, but nothing has worked.The support team sent me instructions to claim the other version for free since both are now sold as one. However, when I log into my Microsoft account the one I used to buy Bedrock, it still asks me to purchase both Java and Bedrock, even though I already own Bedrock. I don’t want to pay for it again.Th

If you have bought Minecraft before, you’re now getting the other edition for free. Woot! Follow these steps to redeem it:

Go to the Microsoft Store listing for Minecraft: Java & Bedrock for PC.

Sign-in to the Microsoft Store with your Microsoft account.

Once you’re signed in, instead of a “Buy” button you should see a button that says “Get.” Click this button – and now you own both editions!

HOW DO I RUN OR PLAY EITHER VERSION OF MINECRAFT?

Once you’ve completed the steps above, including logging into the Microsoft Store, you can now download the Minecraft Launcher.

To play Minecraft: Java Edition, download and install the correct launcher for your operating system. Sign into the Launcher using your Microsoft account, and you will be able to run Java Edition.

If you have bought Minecraft on iPhone, you have the Bedrock Edition of the game. To play on PC, you will need to buy the Java Edition from the official Minecraft website. Alternatively, you can also buy the Windows 10 Edition of the game from the Microsoft Store, which is compatible with the Bedrock Edition.

In addition, since the Bedrock version and Java are not compatible, they cannot be played together.
