Windows 10: Hi ive disconnected WiFi. due to hidden device's

Hi have disconnect my wifi as I was in hospital for month seriously ill. the police and housing are no help as when they turn up he and his wee gang turn them off the empty house at the left of me no one lives there and they have broke in the police is useless at the right of me is the guy that broke into my house when i was in hospital this is seriously making me not well. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Device Manager Un-Hiding Hidden Devices

When you connect a plug and play device, Windows Plug and Play manager detects it, finds and installs the driver. Device Manager lists the device with a solid icon.

The driver is only removed when you uninstall the device, not simply by disconnecting the device. When the device is disconnected, its driver is still installed. By default, Device Manager only displays connected devices. When you show hidden devices, note the Bluetooth icon you see is semi-transparent (not opaque). That indicates a "non-present" device. Sometimes also called a "ghost" device. The driver is still installed but the device is not currently detected (i.e. not connected).

Device can be disconnected when

• Device unplugged (e.g. removing a USB device)
• Turning a device OFF
• Disabling the device in BIOS (then windows won't detect it) or
• Device failure

So

• Check BIOS as suggested
• Check board connections
• Can b/t be turned off by a switch? or keyboard combination?

Also possible the b/t h/w failed

• If you have an identical laptop try comparing the wifi and security settings of the one that does not disconnect with the one that does. If you find any differences change the settings of the one that does not work to the one that does.

Can not find WIFI device after W10 Creator update

Hi,

This issue may have occurred due to corrupted drivers. Since you already performed some troubleshooting steps, and the drivers are not even listed in device manager, we suggest that you follow these steps to make the missing drivers visible again:

• Right click the Windows icon and select Device Manager.
• Click the View Tab at the top of the Device Manager window.
• Put a checkmark on Show hidden devices.
• Check if it made your drivers visible. Try to uninstall and reinstall your drivers afterwards.
