0% availability (plugged in, charging)

If the battery is old it might have run its course but if that's not the can do the following to check what the problem

Computer laptop that is plugged in but not charging

• Shutdown the laptop
• Remove the battery ( note some batteries cannot easily be removed you may need to consult your laptop manual on how to remove them)
• Clean the battery and terminals with a dry clean cloth
• Put the battery back
• Turn on the laptop
• If it still say plugged in but not charging dont panick continue to follow more steps below

Reinstall Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery.

Laptop is Not Plugged In But Battery Status Shows Charging

Guys

Need some help. My laptop is currently acting weird. It's battery indicator is showing it's in charging status even when it is NOT plugged in to a power adapter.
The battery itself seems to be ok as it is draining normally during usage and gets charged up when I plugged it in for charging. But when I unplugged the laptop from the power adapter, it continues to says it's "plugged in, charging". This started to
happen after install a windows update.

I had tried all the following actions below but it does not fix anything. I will appreciate any suggestion to fix this.

- Shut Down and Reboot

- Uninstall all previous windows update.

- Reformat the laptop to fresh install windows

- Uninstalling Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and reboot it to allow it to auto re-install

- Triple check there is no short / dirt in the charging port that could cause any short.
