Windows 10: Hi madniteowl2 Sept 16 2015 and others; Solution / Explanation to LG DVD Player SP60NB50

Hi everyone,I could not respond to a question by madniteowl2 for an LG Slim External Multi DVD writer SP60NB50 Standard Micro to USB that would read in Windows 8.1 and not in Windows 10 as the thread was closed. I have the same drive and another LG SP80NB80 Micro C to USB that I spent hours diagnosing yesterday with Windows 11. So answers - First off as others have mentioned there are not drivers for this hardware, the driver is built into the onboard firmware and is in fact plug and play. I tried this on a Windows 7 computer and it would not read either. I realized reading online PDF inst

LG dvd player not seen

LG DVD Player is attached to computer but nothing happens when I put a DVD in it

 

Windows 10 did not dowlnoad widows dvd player

I upgraded to Win 10 pro from 8.1 pro shortly after the initial release, I just noticed today that I never received the DVD player update, KB3081704. My DVD player is listed, has latest firmware compatible with 8.1, but I can't play DVDs. I have windows
DVD player listed under apps. The burner is a LG CH12LS28. Any suggestions, other than paying for it the store or a 3rd party app?
