Hi, my dvd rom drive not showing the icon or can not find

My pc is Lenovo ideapad 130-141KB

Cd Rom / Dvd Writer

Hi,

I have both Samsung CD ROM & LG DVD Writer(Both are internal). Since some days CD ROM is getting opened and trying to get closed all by its own.

I removed the power cord of CD ROM & again connected. This time it is not showing both the drives. It is showing only 1 drive and if i right click on that drive and select eject, both the drives are getting opened.

Is it anything related to virus? Do i need to install OS once again.

Pls Suggest

 

DVD/CD Drive Saying CD-Rom

My Dvd drive is listed in my device manager however it is set as cd rom in the description, it also wont open and is not set as my default drive, any suggestions?

windows 10 if that changes anything

• Is the issue specific to a CD?
• Have you tried using any other CD/DVD?

You may want to use the same CD with any other Windows 10 if available or use any other CD to same Windows 10 to test whether the issue is with the CD itself or Windows.

I suggest you to un-install/reinstall the DVD/CD-ROM Drive and check if this helps.

  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Click on DVD/CD-ROM drive to expand it.
  
• 
  Right click on the device and click on uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you uninstall the driver restart the computer. It will automatically install the generic driver.
