Windows 10: Hi, my mouse cursor is freezing every second and then unfreezing.

The freezing isnt random its happening every 1 second, its doing it on games, programs desktop etc. i have tried sfc scans dcim scans, both came up clear.i have tried updating mouse drivers and still not working and tried changing display drivers and still not working. The cursor moves then stutters then moves again in an infinite cycle but the time between stutters is the same everytime. Its really hard to describe it without a video but ive done my best, hopefully its clear enough . Im on Windows 11 and have been before without this issue, I have a decent PC that shouldnt be lagging so an

When moving my mouse, it freezes for a second and unfreezes over and over!

Everytime when I move my mouse, it freezes for a second and unfreezes, my mouse I'm using is a usb wireless one and it also freezes for more than 1 second so how do I fix this?

 

Intermittent Freezing linked to Cursor movement

Hi,

The cursor on my laptop freezes every few seconds when I move it. This happens with both my bluetooth mouse and my inbuilt touchpad. I know the laptop is freezing and not just the cursor because if I run an app with a progress bar it also freezes at the same time as the cursor. The freezing only seems to happen when I move the cursor.

The freezing is just momentary (like it pauses for a second and then goes on as normal). I do not have to do anything to get it to unfreeze.

I have tried re-installing the drivers for mouse and touch pad.

I have defragged and cleaned up the HD.

I have tried doing a system restore but just get an error (I only have 1 restore point because I stupidly deleted them to create space I didnt need in case it was a space issue).

Any suggestions would be welcome.

strange mouse cursor pause

I'm having a strange mouse cursor pausing problem. At some point during the login process, the mouse cursor will freeze and become unresponsive for about a quarter of a second and continue to freeze/unfreeze every 2 seconds or so. Here are the details:

- Lenovo Twist S230U with latest BIOS (updated after I encountered this mouse problem), Windows 10, wireless Logitech M315 mouse with USB dongle

- Noticed the problem immediately after upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. I could not correct it so I did a clean install of Windows 10. Seemed to fix the problem. However, after a couple of days and some Windows 10 updates, the problem returned.

- Does not occur in Safe Mode.

- Tried disabling all startup programs (Task Manager -> Startup).

- When I have Task Manager or Event Viewer open and have either as the active window, the problem goes away, only to return when I go to another program or desktop.

- When I have the Task Manager open and visible, but not the active app, the mouse will freeze/unfreeze at the same rate the statistics are updating in the Task Manager Processes tab. The mouse will freeze just prior to the statistics being updated and
then unfreeze. When I click on the Task Manager and make it the focused/active window, the mouse pausing stops.

- I removed the mouse dongle and rebooted, but the touchpad does the same thing. However, when I plug in the dongle the problem goes away, or if I boot with the dongle in the USB and then pull it out, the touchpad works. When I put the dongle back in,
the mouse works fine, as well. This will last for awhile, but then the problem resurfaces.

I can work around the problem by cycling the mouse dongle every time the problem occurs, but I'd prefer to fix the problem. Thanks!
