Hi Really fed up. when will MS stop giving fixes etc and just give me a start menu that I can list Apps in the order I want, under the headings I want and keep them in the same order.

how do i reset the start menu in windows 10 to not show tiles?

A few days ago, my friends Win10 computer stopped showing his desktop and now only shows the tiles (he wants to see the default list of programs, not any tiles).

Clicking on the Windows key or "start menu" doesn't change anything. I stepped him through some online suggestions (including Settings/Start/Use-start-full-screen and making sure Settings/Table-mode was not engaged) but they don't work.

I've also compared his settings (Start/Use-start-full... and Table-mode) to my Win10 machine and they are the same.

Assistance/suggestions would be appreciated.

Start Menu Not working FIX IT!

I am NOT satisfied at ALL with your Windows 10 garbage, Microsoft. Your start menu stopped working on me, how about **** fixing it, huh? I am so FED UP with Windows 10! It gave me a critical error, reading that my start menu wasn't working and it would
try to fix it next time I signed in. Well, I signed out, then back in, restarted and more and it STILL doesn't **** WORK! Fix your **** OS or give me Win 8.1 NOW!

 

Windows10 Start Menu fixed thru Powershell adjustments

Hi...Like many Win10 upgraders, my Start Menu stopped working some time after its initial successful installation. I have tried many of the suggested fixes posted on the MS Community Forum. None proved successful for me.

BUT I found a suggested fix that worked for me and some others. It works thru changes/fixes via MS PowerShell. My Start Menu now works and has continued to work after I rebooted the computer.
