    Tried everything to reset my pc.

    So i have tried just about everything to reset my pc my computer has so many dumb files on it that i just wanted to wipe it clean.

    i tried doing the “Reset this PC” option but it told me that their was a problem reseting this pc no changes were made

    then i tried a clean install of windows 10 but it kept all of my old files in a folder called Windows(old).

    any suggestions would be greatly appriciated

    To help you resolve your concern, we suggest that you follow the instructions below:

    Power cycle your device. Here are the steps:

    • Force shutdown your computer by pressing and holding the power button down for 5 to 10 seconds.
    • Remove all the attached cables for 2 minutes then put them back on.
    If the same thing happens, we suggest that you perform the reset again.

    This issue could have occurred due to these reasons:

    1. Conflict with third party applications.

    2. Conflict between external devices.

    Try the steps listed here:



    Method 1:

    I suggest you to unplug all the external devices except mouse and keyboard and check if it helps.

    Method 2:

    If the issue persists, I suggest you to set the computer in a clean boot and then try to reset again.
    Setting the system in a clean boot state will help to identify if any third party applications or startup items are causing the issue.
