    Hi, when I open my Device Manager, it seems to constantly refresh. Not sure whats going on.


    I only noticed the issue recently when I opened my device manager a few days ago, my system seems to be running ok, but seeing this is a bit alarming and Im concerned something else is going on. Ive checked all USB devices, and unplugging them doesnt work.I did restart in safe mode, and it doesnt seem to happen when in Safe mode, but honestly, not very computer literate when it comes to this.     My pc is constantly refreshing

    No problem.

    Windows itself is starting, right?

    Is it just constantly refreshing the interface?

    When pressing "Ctrl + Shift + Esc", does the Task Manager open?

    Is Task Manager stable? Is it possible to interact with it?

    Sorry for asking too many questions. I just want to be sure what exactly is going on and know what to suggest to fix the problem.

    Hello Wayne,

    Need to follow up your question with another question, whenever the Device Manager list is refreshing, do you hear a disconnect/connect sound coming from your speakers?

    A faulty USB cable/device or a USB cable/device that is not plugged in firmly can cause the Device Manager screen to constantly refresh since Windows believes a USB device is constantly being connected and disconnected.

    Device Manager keeps refreshing - due to network adapters

    Hi Timm,

    Device Manager refresh tends to happen when a new hardware is plugged in or removed, whether its a flash drive, and/or etc. This also happens when a driver is not working properly in which the Device Manager attempts to refresh to restart the said driver.
    Plausible reason is that your Network adapter requires update since all this started right after upgrading to Windows 10. If you haven't done so, you can update it by following the steps below:

    • Go to Device Manager and right click on Network Adapters.
    • On the drop down, click on "Update Driver".
    • Follow the instruction in the Update Driver Software wizard.

    Also as an alternative check if this issue persist on Safe Mode. You can go to this link for the steps on how to boot to safe
    mode. You can also go to your PC manufacturer website for the latest driver update.
