Am getting the error "Installer payload initialization failed. This is likely due to due to corrupt or incomplete downloaded file" whenever I try to install a new application. Need help to fix this error

• Have you installed all the pending updates on your system?
• Did you make any recent software/hardware changes to your computer?
• Do you have any antivirus program installed on your computer?
• Is the issue specific to one application or you are not able to install any applications?
• Is it a Microsoft application or third party application?

This issue might occur if the file was probably not downloaded correctly or corrupted, suggest you to download the application again using your favorite browser and check if you are able to install the application.

If your still unable to install the application follow the below method and check if it helps.

Method 1: Unregister and re-register the Windows Installer

Unregistering and reregistering Windows Installer corrects many windows installation issues.

Unregister: In Search box type
Run, type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER, and then click
OK.

Re-register: In Search box type
Run, type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER, and then click
OK.

Note: It may look like nothing occurs, or you may briefly see an hourglass. After you run this command, the operation is complete.

If you are still facing any issue you can try install the application in clean boot state and check if it works.

Method 2: Perform Clean boot.

Clean boot to check if any third party application is causing the issue, as clean boot helps in eliminating software conflicts.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx
