Having loads of cds i put on my hardrive... only to find our beloved windows music player has been config with ssl xboxlive which overall is pretty useless ,,, ive lost my faith n trust in windows if they pull stunts like this ... whats next? office discontinued.. mmm ,,, not impressed microsoft ...

Groove music - Album covers half missing

Hi,

To help us identify the cause of the issue and then find the proper resolution for it, please provide us the following information:

• Do the album covers/album art show up correctly in Windows Media Player?
• Have you checked if this is also true for the other music apps you used to add the album covers/album art?
• Can you send us a screenshot of a sample album art so we can take a closer look?
• What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

N8 Album Cover Issue in Music Player

It's much easier, for me, to open music in Windows Media Player, right click on album icon and find album info, then drag and drop a jpeg of the album cover onto the album icon. All the Album art shows fine on my phone !

xBox Music Metadata and non-matching albums - advice please

I am trying to tidy up my music collection, with an Xbox Music pass, a new Surface Pro 2, and WP8 to contend with.

I am fine with ripped albums that also exist in Xbox Music land (though there is an irritating tendency for tracks to migrate to other 'albums' in which they also happen to have been included).

But I am having trouble with some tracks that don't exist at all in Xbox Music (deleted albums, home recordings, etc.), where Xbox Music decides, for some reason, to match the track with something completely unrelated.

I guess I need to edit the metadata myself, but, before I start, what are the rules Xbox Music follows? Does it look at the folder structure / file names? What tags does it care about? Any relevant information/links gratefully received. There seems to be
not a lot of information on the Xbox website.

Also, stupid question, can anyone suggest a resilient way to rip CDs on Win 8.1? WMP on that platform doesn't seem to have the 'autorun', or even manual run, rip functionality I am used to on Windows 7, unless I am missing something.
