  2. Hidden network problems

    Hello Werner,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

As per description, I understand that you have to enter ssid password to connect to router every time you restart your computer. I would certainly help you with this issue.

I would appreciate, if you can provide us the following information to help us understand the issue better.

    • You mentioned that there are four router at the base camp, do you connect to one particular router everytime or select one from those four?
    • Have you checked if one router profile is set as default?

Some wireless network connections requires to put password every time for connection for security reasons. If that is the case I would suggest you to contact the network administrator your base Camp if there is such settings. The other possibility
could be incorrect network settings or a network profile is not set as default.

You may try to set one of the router as default and check the issue.

Follow the steps to set router as default.

    • Press windows key + x key.
    • Select Network connection.
    • Right click on Network profile.
    • And set as default.
Please try these steps and update us with results. We would be happy to assist you further on the issue.

  3. Delete "hidden network"

    Hi,

Deleting or Blocking available networks can only be done using Command Prompt. Follow the steps below:

    • Open Command Prompt.
    • Type netsh wlan add filter permission=block ssid="WLAN name"
networtype=infrastructure (Replace WLAN name with "hidden network" or the name of the wireless network you want to block) and press
      Enter.
    • Close Command Prompt.
To remove/delete the network from the block list. Replace "add" with "delete" on the command in step two.

    Looking forward to your response.
