Cannot access the hidden folder share on my remote computer

    Hello Everyone,
I can't access hidden folders (like: \\ip_remote\c$ or d$) on a remote computer. Even though when the computer asks for a username and password I have entered it correctly. If I try to make a share folder on the same remote computer. That can be done. I have also tried to turn off the firewall but still cannot. I don't think the problem is in the firewall anymore. Can anyone provide a solution? Thanks.

  3. Cannot access default Microsoft Windows hidden shares

    • I have a problem where when I want to access a shared folder from a remote computer like \\ip_remote\c$ it can't.
    • If I access the share folder from a remote computer I create (like \\ip_remote). That is no problem

Instead of using C$, create your own share such as \\ip_remote\DriveC, e.g. by using this command on the host:

    net share DriveC=C:\

    Remote Access

    1. Follow these steps to disallow remote access to your PC completely:
    2. 1. Type “remote settings” into the Cortana search box. Select “Allow remote access to your computer”. This may seem counter-intuitive, but this opens the Control panel
      dialog for Remote System Properties.
    3. 2. Check “Don't Allow Remote Connections” to this Computer. You've now disabled remote access to your computer.

Try these two steps and tell us if your issue gets solved. If it does not then your PC may be infected. Use a Good antivirus to remove the infection from your device completely.
