Windows 10: Hidden + System protected Microsoft Word file on my desktop is it a virus?

I have one 162-byte docx file on my desktop, it's system protected and is hidden, I got full permissions and I'm the "owner" of this file, even though I didn't create this file. It's called $~crosoft Word Document.docx translated, and I do think this is a virus, even though I use Kaspersky and sometimes Windows Defender, first I decided to let them check this one single file, then quick scan, and then full scan - both said there's no malware.I saw this file also existing on my old PC which has MSWord 2010, my main PC which I posted a screenshot on which has MSWord 2019, and even on my virt

I have a lot of ms word files on my pc. But one of them showed me an error - Getting unknown error messages while opening (.doc) or (.docx) files. I don't know how to open my word file or repair microsoft word. Any suggestions, guys, please.

 

All hidden files turned Un-hidden

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and being part of Windows 10.

I suggest you to re-add them to the hidden items list and check.

Steps:

• Right click on the folders to hide, select Properties.
• Go to General tab, under Attributes check mark the option
  Hidden.
• Click on Apply and on Ok.

I suggest you not to use any third party anti-virus software. Try to use Windows Defender.

Unable to find Word documents all of a sudden on Windows 10

Do let us know the following to understand the issue and assist you better:

• Have you made any changes to the operating system prior to this issue?
• Have you activated System Restore point on your device?
• What are the troubleshooting steps you have performed while trying to resolve this issue?
• What exactly happens when you try to search for the files manually from Search bar?

Step 1: I suggest you to check if the content is hidden on your device.

Windows + E, click on View tab, check mark the
Hidden items

Step 2: I suggest you to run a virus scan to check if it resolves the issue.
