    High 85% CPU use untill put to a sleep/wake cycle


    Main problem:

    My Pc revs up cpu fan during boot, with 85% CPU when done booting. A sleep/wake cycle fixes this.

    the computer otherwise works fine.

    I have a ASUS Z97-P motherboard with a I5-4690K processor running windows 10 pro.

    There are 3 items with high CPU under taskmanager processes:


    System

    Service hostHigh 85% CPU use untill put to a sleep/wake cycle :Diagnostic policy service

    Service hostHigh 85% CPU use untill put to a sleep/wake cycle :Diagnostic service host


    these 3 pretty equally share the 85% cpu load.


    Any ideas? Thanks for any insight into this!

    "System Interrupts... does appear as a process in Task Manager, it’s not really a process in the traditional sense. Rather, it’s an aggregate placeholder."

    Yes, I am aware of that. LatencyMon shows that the hyper process is ACPI.sys with an exponentially higher DPC count than anything else. This high count
    only happens after waking from sleep -- until next boot.

    • "Is the System interrupts higher than about 20% and it stay there consistently?"
    The interrupt is generally at 0-0.2% until I put the laptop to sleep. When waking it is 12-15% consistently until rebooting.

    • "Are you getting any error message?"
    No error message, just a lot of extra cooling fan use. Except that the Blue Screen of Death has started to happen much more often this week once I try to use my web browser, or look at email in Outlook, or even use SM Word. Obviously I have restarted my
    computer many times, and the issue goes away until the laptop goes to sleep and then wakes.

    • "Any changes on the computer before the issue started?"
    The main change was that I started to use my laptop on battery instead of just having it plugged in to AC on the desk. Also the Blue Screen of Death started happening consistently about the same time that Windows Update KB3150513 installed (in this condition,
    waking from sleep and using apps). But uninstalling that update made no difference.

    After reverting to an earlier Windows version and then updating the drivers again...

    This did not resolve the high CPU usage after waking from sleep, and I notice that it is both System Interrupts (ACPI.sys) and System (ntoskrnl.eve) adding up to about 30% added CPU usage... and constant cooling fan running at moderate to high speed.

    High CPU usage on waking up

    Whenever I wake my laptop from sleep, the CPU usage seems to be tremendously high. I noticed that when Edge was launched, it took too long to respond and task manager was the only way to close it. Is there a way to fix this?
