Windows 10: High CPU & Disk Space Usage

Hello Microsoft Community.Hoping to get some help to troubleshoot some issues I've had with my laptop for a while now.Primary pain point is that the computer boots and runs extremely slowly. This has been the case for a long time. CPU and/or Disk tend to run at 100%. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with my anti-virus software McAfee.I noticed today, when I turned my wifi off to run an offline system check, that it ran much faster. My laptop is an Asus X541U with Intel Core i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50 GHz. Ram is 8 GB. Operating system is Windows 10 Home.

High cpu and disk usage

after updating the wifi driver it seems that it's now normal.





This is sample from windows update there is a very long list and I didn't notice any update failure.

Hello, i've got problem with Windows 8. Yesterday, i've installed cleaned Windows 8, and i've got High CPU Usage and High Disk Usage. How can i fix this problem?

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I downloaded and ran the tool but no problems were detected. All processes passed. A useful tool to have though. CPU usage seems to have improved though after making a few tweaks suggested on the Microsoft Community.
But now I'm battling more with high disk usage.
