Windows 10: High CPU spikes with most software on a new laptop

This is all on a pair of brand new Lenovo laptops with AMD A9-9425 processor, 8 GB of ram, and a 256 GB SSD, Windows came already installed. My dad got them for us and both are a bit slow.

Whichever program i try to run starts to use upwards of 40% to 100% of the CPU, going down when idling while spiking heavily the moment i start using the trackpad. The memory is permanently running at just over 50% with

this is causing some minor to noticeable lag with everything i do, new blank tabs take about 4 seconds to load with normal web pages about twice that and you-tube struggles worse.

there is no issue with the startup time of the laptop itself, as that is quite fast. I have no anti-virus other than windows defender.

Things i have already tried; (this list is also for reversing anything that makes it worse and to give others a list to go down and try)

-A fresh install of windows to remove all of the bloatware

-made sure everything is up to date

-turned on high performance mode

-disabling all startup programs

-disabling cortana

-stopped windows from sending updates to other systems

-optimized the drives

-deleting all temp files through run- temp/ %temp%.

-done a complete disk clean up. this or the previous one gave a minor speed boost

-disabled the superfetch by turnin off Sysmain

-menu show delay and mouse hover time set from 200 to 10 in the registry editor and ClearPageFileAtShutDown set from 0 to 1, as well an the TimeBrokerSvc/start set from 4 to 3

-disabled all visual effects in the performance editor

Things i am going to try

-try a clean boot

-re-install/ replace ALPS Pointing Device Driver -Dont know if this will this disable the touchpad entirely.



Also i have CPU-Z installed but don't know what any of it means, if that helps anyone sort the issue.

Windows 10 Display Blinking with High CPU

After upgrade to Windows 10, experiencing flashing display and high CPU.

• At initial logon screen everything is normal - wall paper and logon screen display with no blinking
• After logon, fan starts as CPU usage spikes, cursor is accompanied by the spinning blue circle
• touchscreen does not respond to swipe to access Recovery/Safe mode for reboot
• able to get to Task Manager and Perfmon to see high CPU usage and explorer.exe is suspended

looking for suggestions on how to either fix or roll back to Windows 8.1

After downloading windows 10, anytime I run any programs, I get high CPU usage. It does not matter whether it is google chrome, task manager, playing games, whatever. Anything seems to spike the CPU usage. I have already run malwarbytes and my antivirus
programs and find no viruses. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Since yesterday my laptop has drastically decreased performance, games didn't run as smoothly as they use too, and my laptop frequently freezes. After looking through all the processes I found that node.js
used a great amount of CPU. After googling what it is, I couldn't find a proper solution for windows 10. Furthermore, even after terminating node I still have frequent CPU spikes. Even my chrome froze several times when typing my question.

Since this happend over a day, I have no clue how this happend. I would highly appriciate any help. (please take into consideration I'm not that great with computers, just basic/general knowledge) Is
there any solution to my problem?
