  1. High cpu usage due to system interrupts and anti malware service exectuable.

Hello.I am using a dell laptop with i3 cpu and when ever I play valorant or any other game on my laptop after 1-2 hours it starts to lag vary bad due to 2-3 services using high cpu :- System, System interrupts and anti malware service executable. I changed the trigger of anti malware service scheduled scan manually by using task scheduler to scan the system once a week so the anti malware service now does not interrupt while gaming but the system interrupt service always consumes cpu only while gaming. How to stop this ?

    :)

High CPU usage when idle - System and System interrupts

I've been trying to find a solution for a while and decided to ask here for more help. I've noticed that my CPU usage is pretty high when idle, even after a cold reboot of the computer:

Task Manager View showing "System" and "System interrupts" causing a high CPU load:

High cpu usage due to system interrupts and anti malware service exectuable. [IMG]

I've tried to dig deeper and used Processor Explorer to get more information, which, strangely enough, shows that "System interrupts" uses up more % of the CPU than the "System" process:

Process Explorer showing that "Interrupts" is taking up 20% of the CPU load:

Next I've tried to narrow down the causes of the interrupts by using the Windows Performance Recorder and analyze the graph using the Windows Performance Analyzer (can't post the screenshot due to not having enough rep, but it looks like hal.dll is causing the most interrupts, but less than the 20% seen with Process Explorer)

    Any suggestions how to proceed?

    Information about my computer:

    • Windows 10
    • Intel Core i5-4790k
    • AMD R390 GPU
    • 8 GB Ram

I've updated the GPU and sound drivers and Windows is up to date.

    Anti-Malware service executable CPU usage

    Hi NicoKrüger2,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

It's a pity that you encountered a slightly high CPU usage for the Anti-Malware service on a daily basis.

I looked at the computer I use for work as well as a personal computer and I didn't find the same situation as you.

Here is my CPU usage, usually they are all under 1%. Occasionally it hits 2%, but never stays above 3%. From your description you reinstalled Windows 10 and upgraded to Windows 11, theoretically there is nothing wrong with your system.

I checked the update history of Windows 11, and there is no explanation or fix for the service taking up CPU.

What can be determined at present is that the CPU usage of this service will not affect the stability of Windows. This may be a system defect or a Windows scheduling problem. I suggest that you wait patiently for a while to see if it is an unexpected situation that occurs in a short period of time.

Your understanding is highly appreciated!Hope you are keeping safe and well.
