Windows 10: High CPU usage from network process, sound randomly glitches

Hi. Recently i've noticed that my CPU usage on idle is around 50% (which is high). I've found a process that is network related called "Service Host: Network Service (5)". It is currently using aaround 25% of my CPU. I can end it, but then it just restarts. Whenever it starts, any music or anything im listening to glitches out on whatever it currently was on and repeats like the current note and it sounds awful. How do i fix the CPU issue with this?

Why does Adobe Acrobat Pro continue to run as a background process with high CPU usage after app exit?

The background process uses about 30% of CPU. An additional background process is added every time a .pdf file is opened and exited. The high CPU usage causes the CPU cooling fan to run at high speed. I am able to end the processes manually using Task
Manager. The last added background process continues to run and use use about 30% of the CPU until stopping the process. The other background processes do not show CPU usage.

I am running Acrobat Pro 9 under Windows 10.

 

High cpu usage caused by tiworker.exe

I noticed this today, too. I was not doing anything, Chrome was open but on a static page. Closed Chrome and still noticed high CPU usage. Sort Processes by CPU and it was bouncing 20-30%. Reading that it is the update process so I ran Windows Update
and there were no updates. I did not look at network activity but CPU Usage declined a little but WTF is is still using so much? And why is it ALWAYS running?

"Critical" suggests it will crash the system if terminated. I killed the process without any issue.

 

Try using Process Explorer to see if you can figure out exactly what is causing it. PE gives you a lot more info than Task Manager. It's free and does not get installed, you just run it.

 

Hi. So i am using Process Explorer however there is multiple "svchost.exe" processes running (which i can see in task manager). However the one causing the issue is the Network Services one, which i am unable to find in process explorer.

 

When you point to each instance of svchost.exe it should show you the processes running under it.

The only Network Services I have is NvNetworkService.exe.

 

Weird, now the process isnt using the same amount of CPU. Could this be caused when i have more tabs open in chrome?

 

As a test, try a different browser, Firefox, Opera, PaleMoon, even IE, etc.

If that makes a significant difference, try completely uninstalling Chrome then download and install the latest available, see if the problem recurs or not.
