Windows 10: High definition audio controller code:10 error and missing realtek HD audio driver

Hello,


I'm having an issue where firstly the Realtek HD audio driver is missing, i've tried reinstalling it, asks me to restart pc at the end and i do, yet it still doesn't appear. And also there is an error 10 with the high definition audio controller which i assume is related. I've tried installing the Realtek driver, troubleshooting but that doesn't work.


MSI GF62 8RC running windows 10 64x


Any ideas on how to resolve this? thank you!

NOT WORKING-Realtek audio drivers and Microsoft High Definition device

I've seen some videos which just tell you to update Realtek HD driver to the Microsoft driver. Sometimes it works for a while then it stops working. I just go into Device Manager>Sound, video and game controllers> Realtek High Definition audio (right click)>
Update driver software> Browse from my computer> Let me pick from a list of drivers on my computer> High Definition audio device. It should update.

Windows 10 Realtek HD Audio driver problem

I had the same issue, but here is how I fixed the issue on my computer:

1. Device Manager>Sound, Video and Game Controllers

2. Right Click Realtek High Definition Audio and Update Driver Software

3. Browse My Computer for Driver Software

4. Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer

Install High Definition Audio Device

Once that has finished installing, repeat steps 1-4, and then install the RealTek High Definition Audio Version (latest)

After that my sound returned to normal.
