    High Definition Audio - Speakers and Headphones not working after GPU swap


    My PC always ran smoothly and without any issues since i built it. I was running a Ryzen 7 2700 with a B450 Tomahawk (Msi) and an RX 580.

    In a couple of days I swapped first to an old NVidia GTX 770 and then came back to AMD with an RX 470. Both times I removed all GPU Drivers through Display Driver Uninstaller and installed the most recent ones for the GPU I was using. I started noticing already with the GTX that my Motherboard jack audio and my front jack audio were no longer working, and this persisted with the RX470. I tried reinstalling the drivers cleanly through Device Manager, I tried to reinstall Windows High Definition Audio drivers, I even tried to swith to Realtek Ones, I digged everywhere on Win Support and even tried to update the BIOS from my motherboard, and I STILL can't find any clue.

    My audio works through my monitor with the AMD Audio Drivers over HDMI, but there's no way to hear anything from the jacks. The MB jack is detected as "Speakers" but outputs no audio. The front one isn't even detected as "Headphones" when plugged.

    Help me guys please

    Using headphones and speakers at the same time.


    The speakers are analog and the headphones are usb.
    The speakers are listed under sounds as realtek high definition audio. Anything else needed?
    I'm not sure about CODEC how would I check that?

    Win 10 - 2004 update - internal speakers but no headphones

    Wired headphones. Usually when plugged in the audio to the internal speaker is cut-off and switched to headphone. When headphones are plugged in now this does not happen

    "Audio input and output devices"

    2 x Speakers (High Definition Audio Device)

    No headphones listed

    BTW this is true for 4 other Lenovo machines I have - no headphones listed
