Windows 10: High latency issues Windows 10 Nvidia AMD Ryzen

Hi I’m getting extreme DCP latency, audio pop, crackle, distortion, frame drops, out of sync issues. I need to fix this ASAP for an animation music production project for my client. I’ve had this issue on and off for years with windows 10. Usually a rollback or fresh install will fix but not this time I’m stuck !! Windows 10 High Latency and other problems

I have a recording studio. When doing any recording work, the first thing I do is disable the Internet. I've had audio drop outs with it enabled. I've also saw Latency Mon report problems with Internet enabled. As previously noted. by Dalchina, there is no "one fix" for audio/latency problems, each case has to be individually addressed.

Back to Latency. My startup, on my recording studio desktop Win 10, only has very minimum in startup, and one area to address. I only use the built in Windows Defender for antivirus, no 3rd party antivirus as some of those have been known to cause audio problems. Also, for testing, disable internet and run latency mon and see what comes up.

I don't find AMD Radeon video to be an issue. AMD is the only video I will use as I've had latency problems with EVERY NVIDIA video.

For information and comparison, here is my Driver list from Latency Mon. My listed MOTU recording interface unit is USB-C connected to a Thunderbolt III port on my motherboard.

 

STORPORT.SYS high latency issue

Hi,

I've been having difficulty to fix once and for all the latency on my new build. Right now my STORPORT.SYS is a bit high according to Latencymon. It spike frenquently to about 800-1200us.

I have 1 SSD and 1 HDD on this computer.

Under IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, I have put back all: Standard SATA AHCI controller drivers back. (there is 4). The drivers version is 10.0.18362 693

If I put back AMD drivers version 1.3.1.276 I'm having the same average latency.

I tried to optimize both drive and did defrag the HDD. Results still remain the same.

I'm on Crosshair hero VIII / Ryzen 3700x.

AHCI is enabled in the Bios
Sata Port Enabled
NVMe raid mode is enabled (not sure if this should be enabled for me)

High DPC latency, Ryzen 1600 & GTX 1060

So I've gotten myself a Ryzen 1600, and now I'm getting serious microstuttering.

I'm getting around 4000 DPC latency on nvlddmkm.sys ( NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver ).

1. I've updated BIOS to the latest one
2. Installed the latest AMD Chipset drivers
3. Installed the latest Nvidia drivers
4. Applied the AMD Ryzen Balanced power plan
5. Tried Timer Resolution
6. Tried disabling power saving technologies in BIOS, but the options are very limited, there isn't even an option to enable or disable HPET

I've also updated all the possible drivers on the computer to the latest ones, after I've installed all the 'main' drivers, and still had stuttering issues, I have decided to install Driver Booster, in case I've missed something. It did update few of them, but the DPC latency still gets very high.

Sometimes it takes minutes to get to few thousands of DPC, but 'normally' I have between 500-800 of it ( which still seems quite high eh )
