Discus and support High number of arp queries directed to 169.254.169.254 in Windows 10 BSOD Crashes and Debugging to solve the problem; I work as a network admin at a .edu We have a department that runs their own IT and lately we have seen the switch that services their devices bog down...     High number of arp queries directed to 169.254.169.254


    I work as a network admin at a .edu We have a department that runs their own IT and lately we have seen the switch that services their devices bog down under a high number of arp queries. A Wireshark capture shows many of these are arp queries asking who has the ip address 169.254.169.254. The clients use publically routable ip addresses from our dhcp server and are not using apipa. Any suggestions what I can ask them to check for as to why their Windows 10 devices are querying for this address?

    Instalation for usb adapter wl-169

    Hello. I try to instalate an usb adapter wl-169 wireless network but i have on my computer windows 10 and the system is requiring windows 98 ,2000 or xp. Can i do something? Can enybody tell me the steps? Thank you.

    Right.

    Note to self. Ask for help. Get partial help fm LogicEarth (thank you - only after suggesting I was quite going slightly mad - smile). Irrespective of self-hosting website non-public - I still didnt get an answer or quick fix for 169 ip address and so forth.

    See? Nobody actually addressed my issue besides the fact that im partially crazy for hosting my own website. Nobody ('cept for Alure thingy), has given an alternative.

    ABSOLUTELY NOBODY addressed the issue of 169 ip and so forth.

    IP address 169 instead of 192

    The latest Windows10 download on 25th Nov 2016 has stopped an ACER-Aspire7736G laptop from accessing the internet. The IP address has been changed to 169 instead of 192. I had it manually changed back but it will not accept this and the next time the
    laptop was switched on it had reverted to 169. The modem has been turned off, reset and checked. This computer which I am working on now uses the same modem and works alright. I am not an expert and cannot do advanced manual changes.
