Hello,All of a sudden I've started to notice my computer has been running unusually slow. I searched for the problem and the solution, unfortunately I *think* I found the problem but I don't know what is causing it to do this. What has been happening is that:My CPU hasn't been fully utilized when it should be ie: renderingMy speed Ghz is severely lower than usual and seemed to be capped at 0.78 Ghz whereas my base speed is 2.21 Ghz and I know it usually overclocks to 4 Ghz easily - all according to the Task ManagerSo, my original power plan was: High performance, with the default settings.

    :)

Windows 10 Lock Screen - OFF for Balanced power mode, but ON for Power Saver and High Performance?

    Greetings,

Windows 10 locks the screen and requires a password when put in Sleep or Hibernate, however, it does not require a password when in "Balanced". How do I remove the password requirement when the computer is in High Performance of Power Saver modes?

    Thanks!

  3. DPC Issue In Balanced Power Mode

    Hi!

For quite some time now I have been having some issues with my sound in Windows 10 desktop. After narrowing down the possibilities using drivers and installing various Hardware. I have come to the conclusion that it is a DPC issue. using DPC latency checker
I've seen it Spike several times in regions where it's not supposed to. The only time that this does not is when power saver mode is enabled. I would prefer to keep balanced on.

In conclusion is it possible for me to determine the DPC issue in balanced mode and high power mode but is not present in power saver?

Power Profiles... balanced vs high performance

    Hello all...

I have (tried) to configure my laptop so I never have to change my power profile, and always leave it at "balanced."

I've entered the window containing all of the power options, and set it so that my computer matches the settings of "high performance" whenever plugged in, and matches the settings of "power saver" whenever I'm on batteries. So, in theory, my laptop should
act EXACTLY as it does on "high performance" when I'm plugged in.

    But it doesn't.

When I render HD video, after about five minutes, the CPU throttles down to about 50% in "balanced" mode, but only about 75% in "high performance" mode. So I think there's still something different about the two modes. Does anyone know if there's a deeper
menu somewhere where I can make changes so my power profile is exactly like "high performance" when it's plugged in, even though I'm in "balanced?"

    Thanks!
